Laylines ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you join our waitlist or use our website.

1. Data We Collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect:

Your email address
The date and time of your signup
Your explicit consent to receive marketing communications

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your email address based on your explicit consent, which you provide by ticking the consent checkbox and submitting the waitlist form. You may withdraw consent at any time.

3. How We Use & Share Your Data

We use your email address solely to:

Send product updates about Laylines
Send marketing communications related to our sailboat racing analytics platform
Notify you when the product launches

Third-Party Data Sharing: We will not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We do, however, share your data with trusted third-party service providers ('Data Processors') to perform functions and provide services to us, such as email delivery and hosting, only to the extent necessary to provide the Laylines service and in compliance with our obligations under GDPR.

4. Data Storage & Security (Data Controller Identity)

Your email is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use GDPR-compliant service providers and ensure appropriate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) are in place.

Currently, the Data Controller is Laylines, acting as the individual operator of Laylines. Currently, we utilize beehiiv for email management and waitlist automation. You can request a full list of our current Data Processors by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time
Data portability — receive your data in a structured format

6. Data Retention

We retain your email address until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Upon a valid erasure request, we will remove your data within 30 days.

7. Cookies & Analytics

This landing page does not use tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request consent where required.

8. Future GPX Data

When the full Laylines platform launches and collects GPX track data, a separate processing addendum will apply. Track data that can be linked to individuals will be handled with additional care, including anonymization and aggregation where appropriate.
